Are you bored in the evenings? Would you like to do something that’s fun and yet provides some form of exercise and social life at the same time? Have you ever considered square dancing? “Me dance? No way!” you say.

Do any of these reasons sound familiar to you as an excuse for not dancing? “I have two left feet.” “It’s too hard.” “It’s old fashioned and boring.”" I don’t have a partner.” “I’m too old” or “I’m too young.” I don’t have the right kind of clothes.” Well lots of square dancers have said the same things before they started dancing too,.

Club Dances

Last Chance Squares is primarily a mainstream dance club with a few plus tips thrown in for good measures. Rounds are cued between tips. We primarily dance on the first and third Saturdays from 6:45 pm to 9:30. We meet at the following location at the corner of Hollins Ave. and Garfield St.

The cost is $5.00 per person or $10 per couple.

We genuinely have a good time so come join in the fun!

Dance Lessons

Beginners lessons begin October 1, 2012 with the first two lessons free. After that, each lesson is $3.00 per person. You can prepay for the entire set of lessons for $65 and save $10. Families can also prepay for the entire season; the first three immediate family member pay $65 for a total of $195 and a savings of $30, additional family members (ages 8-18) are free for a savings of $105 or more.

Experienced dancers are encouraged to come and help out as “Angels.” Their dancing helps new dancers so they can learn the new moves each week and makes sure that we have full squares. There is no charge for the experienced dancers to dance and help out with the classes.

Lessons are weekly on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. We meet at the same place as where club dances are held:

Depending upon interest and numbers sometimes round dance lessons will follow beginners lessons at 8:15 pm. The level and type (two-step/waltz/etc.) will depend upon the interest of the group involved. The cost is typically $2 per person.

Plus Level lessons are being offered just prior to our regular Saturday club dances at 6:45 pm.
